This invention relates to anaerobic wastewater treatment.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the cleaning efficiency by preventing the formation of vertical and horizontal flows in the sump.

The installation works as follows.
The anaerobic sludge layer is placed on the bottom of the fermentation section 2. Wastewater is supplied through conduit 16 and distributed along the bottom of the reactor 1 by known means (not shown).
